Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Harku — the feedback widget and the dashboard. Plain-language where we can, precise where it matters. By creating a project or using the widget, you agree to them.
Who we are & accepting these terms
Harku ("Harku", "we", "us") provides a lightweight feedback widget and a dashboard to collect suggestions, run a roadmap and publish a changelog. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Harku covering your use of our website, the widget, the dashboard and the public API (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, embedding the widget, or otherwise using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you use Harku on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and "you" means that organisation.
Who can use Harku
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live, to run a Harku project. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. Email us at hello@harku.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
End users who vote and suggest through a widget do not need an account, but the acceptable-use rules below still apply to what they post.
Your content and end-user content
You keep all rights to the content you create in Harku — your projects, roadmap items and changelog entries — and to the suggestions and votes your end users submit through your widget ("Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process and display that Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you.
You are responsible for the Content on your projects, including moderating what your end users post and making sure your use of Harku complies with the laws that apply to you. Because suggestions can be submitted anonymously, you are the controller of any personal data your end users choose to include in what they write.
Acceptable use
Keep it lawful. You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything illegal, or to store or share unlawful, infringing, hateful or abusive content;
- send spam, or use the widget or public API to flood, scrape or overload the Service;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to defeat the security of the Service, or work around plan limits and access controls;
- resell or white-label the Service without our written permission;
- impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation.
We may throttle, suspend or remove content or accounts that break these rules or put the Service at risk — where practical, we will tell you why.
Plans, billing & payments
Harku has a free plan and paid plans (Harku+ and Pro), plus optional paid add-ons. Paid plans and add-ons are billed monthly or annually in advance and renew automatically for the same period until you cancel.
Payments are processed by Creem, our Merchant of Record and seller of record. When you buy a plan or add-on, the purchase is made through Creem and is also subject to Creem's terms. Creem handles your card details, charges, invoices and taxes — we never see or store your full card number. Prices are shown on our pricing page and may exclude taxes, which Creem calculates at checkout.
Cancellation & refunds
You can cancel a paid plan or add-on at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal; your paid features stay active until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which the account returns to the free plan.
Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we do not give refunds or credits for partial periods. Because Creem is the Merchant of Record, any billing dispute or refund is handled under Creem's refund policy — email us first at hello@harku.app and we will help sort it out.
Price changes
We may change our prices or what each plan includes. If a change affects a plan you are on, we will give you reasonable notice before it applies to your next renewal, so you can decide whether to continue. Changes never apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for.
Our intellectual property
The Service itself — the software, the widget, the design, the Harku name and logo — belongs to us and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you no right to our brand or code beyond using the Service as intended. The "Sent with Harku" attribution shown by the widget may be removed only with the corresponding paid add-on.
Third-party services
Harku runs on a small stack — Supabase (database, auth and storage), Vercel (hosting and cookieless analytics) and Creem (payments). Your use of the Service relies on these providers, and their availability is outside our direct control. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
Availability & changes to the Service
Harku is built in public by a small indie team, and we ship often. We may add, change or remove features, and while we aim to keep the Service available we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation or a specific uptime. We will try to give notice of significant changes that affect how you use Harku.
Suspension & termination
You can stop using Harku and delete your account at any time. Deleting a project deletes its suggestions, roadmap and changelog with it.
We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, do not pay, or use the Service in a way that harms others or the Service itself. On termination your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive — such as licences for Content still hosted, disclaimers and the limitation of liability — continue to apply.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. You are responsible for backing up anything you cannot afford to lose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Harku is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as Harku evolves. If we make a material change we will update this page and its effective date and, where appropriate, let you know. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
